Claude Design launched on April 17 2026 through Anthropic Labs, one day after Claude Opus 4.7 shipped. It is Anthropic's first direct swing at Figma and Canva. The pitch is simple: describe what you want, and Claude builds a first version you can refine. Behind the scenes it runs on Opus 4.7's vision capabilities, which now accept images up to 3.75 megapixels — roughly triple what the previous Claude models handled.
